Well‐being decline during adolescence: school transition as a predominant driver beyond age progression

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 67, Issue 9, Page 1513-1524, September 2026.
Background The transition from primary‐to‐secondary school significantly impacts students' well‐being. However, existing research provides limited insight into the long‐term impact of school transition on well‐being, and no studies have disentangled age‐related changes from transition‐specific effects.

Alternative Developmental Toxicity Screening Methods Using Chick Embryo‐Based Models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 8, Page 2640-2649, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Nonclinical developmental toxicity studies are used to investigate the potential toxicities of drugs and chemical candidates on normal embryonic and fetal development during pregnancy, generally using mammalian laboratory animals such as rats and rabbits.

Head and Neck Cancer Care Experiences of First Nations Australians: Insights From Patients and Carers

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Rural Health, Volume 34, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective There is a paucity of evidence exploring the experiences and care needs for First Nations Australians with head and neck cancer (HNC). The aim of the study was to explore the journey of HNC diagnosis, treatment, and early recovery for patients and carers to inform service improvement.

Evaluating the Quality and Impact of Online Patient Forums in Genomic Data Governance

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background There is consensus that patients' perspectives should be considered in decisions about health data. Deliberative forums (DFs) have become a common tool for patient involvement (PI) in health policy development. However, translating deliberative outcomes into policy decisions poses challenges.

Chain‐Length Regulation by WzzE Is Necessary for, but Genetically Separable From, Cyclic Enterobacterial Common Antigen Synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, Volume 126, Issue 2, Page 190-207, August 2026.
Here, we demonstrate that polysaccharide chain length regulation plays a distinct role in enabling formation of a cyclic molecule important for the bacterial cell surface. However, this function is necessary, but not sufficient for the cyclic molecule's biosynthesis.

Techno-Economic Development of WECs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The successful development process of WECs demands large amounts of time and means. The optimal development trajectory manages to keep these expenses to a minimum while delivering an economically viable product at the end of its development. As related expenses (time and money) increase exponentially with the development stages (TRLs) while flexible ...

Polyphenol oxidase depletion in Nicotiana benthamiana enhances recombinant protein purification and preserves native protein integrity

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 3, Page 1283-1293, August 2026.
Polyphenol oxidases (PPOs) depletion preserves endogenous proteins at their predicted molecular weights and enhances detectable enzymatic activities. (a) Less RbcL crosslinking in ppo mutant of Nicotiana benthamiana. Leaf extracts were incubated for 1 h, separated on protein gels, stained with Coomassie or analyzed by Western blot with the anti‐RbcL ...
