Abstract Chickpeas (Cicer arietinum L.) serve as a protein‐rich staple, particularly in Mediterranean countries, where they are often grown in marginal and water‐stressed areas. This meta‐analysis synthesized evidence from peer‐reviewed publications across Mediterranean countries to assess how chickpea rhizobial inoculation influences chickpea ...

Is quinoa‐farming sustainable in marginal environments? Social, economical and environmental aspects
Abstract Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) is an Andean grain crop introduced as a novel crop to many parts of the world in recent years. Recognized for nutritious seeds and high abiotic stress tolerance, it has been promoted as an element of climate‐resilient agriculture, particularly in marginal environments.

Direct control of perennial weeds between crops – implications for organic farming
Perennial weeds can be a major constraint to organic crop production in several North European 26 countries. Preventive and cultural control measures may not suffice when infestations with perennials 27 become severe.

Physiological dominance of the scion in shaping root architecture under suboptimal temperature
Abstract BACKGROUND Non‐optimal temperatures have become a major constraint on plant development under rapidly changing climatic conditions. Both suboptimal and supra‐optimal temperatures reduce physiological activity, alter plant morphology, lead to plant mortality, and ultimately decrease crop productivity.

Conflicting interests and the biological control of weeds
p. 9The inability to predict the impact of an introduced biological control agent against naturalized or native plants has stalled biological control projects against naturalized and native weeds. Lack of accurate information on economic, ecological and

We determined that more isolated and possibly older nest boxes were selected by little penguins for breeding at Pōhatu/Flea Bay, New Zealand. However, breeding success was influenced by lay date in comparison to nest box characteristics. These findings inform immediate conservation recommendations regarding nest box design and placement.

Woody weeds pose significant threats to the 12.3 billion dollar Australian grazing industry. These weeds reduce stocking rate, increase mustering effort, and impede cattle access to waterways. Two major concerns of woody-weed management are the high cost

Advanced Non-Chemical and Close to Plant Weed Control system for Organic Agriculture
Use of chemical has been reduced in agriculture for controlling weeds emergence. The use of alternative systems, such as cultural practices (mulching, flame, intercropping etc.) and mechanical system (hoe, tine etc.) has been introduced by various ...
