Do tissue carbon and nitrogen limit population growth of weevils introduced to control waterhyacinth at a site in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California? [PDF]
Waterhyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes(Mart.) Solms), is a serious problem in the Sacramento Delta. Two weevil species (Neochetina bruchi Hustache and N. eichhorniae Warner) have been introduced as biological control agents. The purpose of this study was

This Finnish registry study shows that concomitant occupational asthma and rhinitis are common in patients with occupational contact urticaria or protein contact dermatitis, often sharing the same exposure. When evaluating occupational immediate allergy, both skin and airway symptoms should be considered.

FRACTIONATION OF GRAIN MATERIALS: METHOD JUSTIFICATION [PDF]
The need to organize waste-free use of recyclable milk raw is due to its adverse environmental effects when released as part of waste water and the presence in it of valuable food components, which can be used in main production.

We assessed Spodoptera litura (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) performance on five common pasture plant species. Larvae consumed more dock, plantain and chicory per day than red or white clover, but with lower conversion efficiencies. Feeding on red clover reduced weights and egg laying, and lengthened development times compared with plantain.

Lethal Temperatures of Diapausing \u3ci\u3eBathyplectes Curculionis\u3c/i\u3e (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) a Parasite of the Alfalfa Weevil (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) [PDF]
Seasonally acclimatized diapausing larvae of Bathyplectes curculionis (Thomson) were exposed to extreme hxgh and low temperatu~es to determine lethal temperatures for this stage of the parasite.

Responses of Fruit Flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) to Protein Bait Applied at Different Densities
ABSTRACT The effectiveness of odour‐based lures for insects is related to their active space, the air volume around an odour source in which an insect will detect and move towards it. This principle applies to protein baits laced with toxicants that are used as either sprays or stations to suppress pest fruit fly populations.

The weevil-watermilfoil interaction at different spatial scales: what we know and what we need to know [PDF]
The North American weevil ( Euhrychiopsis lecontei (Dietz)) is being considered as a biological control agent for Eurasian watermilfoil ( Myriophyllum spicatum L.).
