Heterogeneous Knitted Fabrics for 3D Flexible Capacitive Sensors With Enhanced Sensitivity and Durability

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 12, 22 June 2026.
A breathable textile capacitive pressure sensor based on heterogeneous double‐sided conductive knitted fabrics and a spacer dielectric layer is developed. Structural tuning of the spacer thickness enables optimized compressibility and enhanced pressure sensitivity.

Genomic Variation and Population Structure of Portuguese Native Dog Breeds

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The presence of dogs in Portugal is confirmed by zooarchaeological evidence dating to at least 7600 years ago. The 11 native dog breeds that exist in this territory are therefore the end‐product of a complex evolutionary process. This study characterises the genomic diversity and population structure of 10 native breeds based on whole‐genome ...

A Mathematical Model for Numerical Simulation of Weft Insertion on an Air-Jet Weaving Machine

open access: yes, 2004
In air-jet weft insertion, the weft yarn is moved by the frictional drag between the air stream and the yarn surface. This paper reports the computer simulation of this process in order to determine the motion of the yarn during weft insertion.

Engineered Bacterial Ligand From Streptococcus pneumoniae on Macroporous Resins for Selective Affinity Capture of Secretory IgA

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 6, Page 1531-1543, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) is a promising emerging biopharmaceutical candidate, but it currently lacks a standardized platform for purification. To address this, a novel affinity chromatography resin was developed by immobilizing protein variants of the Streptococcus pneumoniae surface protein, SpsA, as an affinity ligand.

Upgradation of Waste Dyed Fiber Through Production of Upcycled Rotor‐Spun Yarn: Enhancing Sustainability in Textiles

open access: yesCleanMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 99-110, June 2026.
This research is about development of upcycled yarn from textile waste. The results demonstrate that RDFW can be successfully incorporated into yarn production, maintaining comparable tensile strength and uniformity, while reducing waste and resource consumption also save up to 22,000 L of water and 1.2 kg of CO2 per kilogram of cotton.
