Bioinspired Soft‐Skeleton Robotics With Cooperative Shape Transformation and Stiffness Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A bioinspired soft‐skeleton robot that integrates variable‐stiffness chain skeletons into a soft textile skin is developed. The chain skeletons are highly flexible initially but can stiffen upon pneumatic actuation, enabling large deformation and enhanced load‐bearing capacity.

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

The Effect of Linen and Linen Blends on the Comfort Properties of Bedding Fabrics

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2021
In this study, the effect of linen and linen blends on the comfort properties of bedding fabrics was investigated. Therefore, 10 different fabric types were produced by using the same warp (100% cotton) and different weft yarns.

A statistical prediction model for pilling grades of blended worsted fabrics based on fabric bending rigidity

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
A laboratory statistical tool based on fabric bending rigidity and weft yarn count to predict fabric pilling grades of blended worsted fabrics is proposed. Multiple regression analysis is performed to obtain three dependent models as evaluation tools for

Resource‐Efficient Electrodes with Metallized Woven‐Glass‐Grid Current Collectors for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The use of metallized glass‐based woven‐grids instead of metal foils as current collectors for LIBs leads to a significant reduction in metal usage by over 90 % and weight savings of more than 80 %, resulting in an 11 % increase in specific energy at the cell level. Abstract A novel class of resource‐efficient, woven‐glass‐grid current collectors (CCs)
