A Multivariate Distribution with Weibull Connections

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1989
SUMMARY A simple form of multivariate distribution is defined which, for certain parameter values, has Weibull marginals. The distribution has a single parameter governing association between the variates, which may be positive, negative or zero.

A Sensitivity Analysis Workflow for Power Series Compounded Lifetime Models: Evidence From Weibull Power Series Fits

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We propose a practical procedure to quantify the time varying influence of parameters on hazard functions for power series compounded lifetime models. The procedure combines likelihood based fitting with a two stage sensitivity analysis and applies to a range of baselines and compounding laws.

WEIBULL-POISSON DISTRIBUTION AND THEIR APPLICATION TO SYSTEMATIC PARALLEL RISK

open access: yesBarekeng
The Weibull-Poisson distribution represents a continuous distribution type applicable to various forms of hazard, including monotone up, monotone down, and upside-down bathtub shapes that ascend.

Age Replacement for Balanced Systems Under Mission Durations

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With advances in technology, systems such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and planetary landing vehicles whose operation requires maintaining balance across sectors have attracted increasing attention within the balanced systems literature.

Sub‐Nanometer Ferroelectric Tunnel Junctions With Record‐High on‐Current Density Through Synergistic Microwave Annealing and High‐Field Activation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT High‐density memory systems require a high on‐state current density (Jon) to ensure fast read speeds and large sensing margins in cross‐point array applications. However, achieving high Jon in atomically thin ferroelectric tunnel junctions (FTJs) remains an unmet challenge, hindered by parasitic interfacial layer (IL), depolarization fields ...

Microstructure, Defects, and Fatigue Response of High‐Strength Tool Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The martensitic tool steel family is designed for use in various working environments where they are subjected to repeatedly high mechanical loads. Despite the continuous upgrade of material´s microstructures through compositional development or processing techniques, defects remain a critical factor for the tool performance by leading to fatigue ...

On quasi-Weibull distribution

open access: yesMiskolc Mathematical Notes
Exponential distribution together with a variety of its transformations is permanently used both in probability theory and related fields. The most popular one is the power transformation yielding the Weibull distribution.

Multi‐level fatigue reliability assessment of reinforced concrete railway bridges

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a multi‐level reliability framework for assessing the fatigue life of reinforced concrete (RC) railway trough bridges subjected to cyclic loading. The framework incorporates increasing levels of analytical complexity and real‐world data in four steps. First, an analytical model applies S–N curves and the Palmgren–Miner rule
