Weibull distributions

WIREs Computational Statistics, 2011
AbstractThe basic Weibull distribution is considered the most fundamental and basic lifetime distribution. Various extensions of the Weibull distribution have been proposed since the 1970s and are useful in the modeling of complex lifetime data that are beyond the capability of the basic Weibull. This article reviews the properties of the basic Weibull

On Recent Generalizations of the Weibull Distribution

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2007
This short communication first offers a clarification to a claim by Nadarajah & Kotz. We then present a short summary (by no means exhaustive) of some well-known, recent generations of Weibull-related lifetime models for quick information. A brief discussion on the properties of this general class is also given.

An additive modified Weibull distribution

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2016
A new five-parameter lifetime distribution with increasing, decreasing and bathtub-shaped hazard function is proposed in this paper. An important property of the new distribution is that it is very flexible to model the bathtub-shaped hazard rate data.

Another characterization of the weibull distribution

Canadian Journal of Statistics, 1978
AbstractA necessary and sufficient condition is given that an absolutely continuous positive random variable follow a Weibull distribution. The condition Is based on some functions of order statistics.

Discrete Linnik Weibull distribution

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2018
We introduce a new family of distributions using truncated discrete Linnik distribution. This family is a rich family of distributions which includes many important families of distributions such a...

A New Discrete Weibull Distribution

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1984
This paper introduces another discrete Weibull distribution. A connection is shown to the famous Birthday Problem and to the lifetime of a series system of components.
