Inference for the Poly-Weibull Model

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series D (The Statistician), 2000
Summary. We consider inference for the poly-Weibull model, which arises in competing risk scenarios when the risks have independent Weibull distributions and it is not known which is responsible for the failure. Real and generated data sets illustrate our approaches to inference, which in addition to standard likelihood methods include Bayesian ...

Modeling with Weibull-Pareto Models

North American Actuarial Journal, 2012
Abstract In this paper we develop several composite Weibull-Pareto models and suggest their use to model loss payments and other forms of actuarial data. These models all comprise a Weibull distribution up to a threshold point, and some form of Pareto distribution thereafter.

Weibull and inverse Weibull composite distribution for modeling reliability data

Model Assisted Statistics and Applications, 2010
The Weibull distribution, frequently used for life data analysis, is composited with inverse Weibull distribution to obtain a computationally convenient parametric distribution for modeling reliability data. This two-parameter smooth and continuous natural composition has an inverse Weibull density up to an unknown threshold value and Weibull density ...

Weibull Models

2003
A comprehensive perspective on Weibull models The literature on Weibull models is vast, disjointed, andscattered across many different journals. Weibull Models is acomprehensive guide that integrates all the different facets ofWeibull models in a single volume.

Bayesian estimation for compound weibull model

Series Statistics, 1979
This paper is concerned with the Bayesian estimation problem of the unknown parameters of the compound Weibull model with unequal shape parameter. Bayesian estimates are obtained for the uniform and gamma prior probability densities assumming independent prior distributions.

A Weibull Model for the Estimation of Tumorigenic Potency

Biometrics, 1993
In this paper, a new method of estimating tumorigenic potency is proposed that takes into account information on survival and, when available, the underlying cause of death. Specifically, Weibull distributions are used to describe the time to tumor occurrence (X), the time to death as a result of tumor occurrence (Y), and the time of death from causes ...

The McDonald Weibull model

Statistics, 2012
For the first time, we propose a five-parameter lifetime model called the McDonald Weibull distribution to extend the Weibull, exponentiated Weibull, beta Weibull and Kumaraswamy Weibull distributi...

A Bivariate Weibull Regression Model

Economic Quality Control, 2005
Summary: We propose a new bivariate Weibull regression model based on censored samples with common covariates. There are some interesting biometrical situations which motivate the study of a bivariate Weibull regression model of the proposed type. A procedure for obtaining the maximum likelihood estimators for the parameters in the model is derived and

2-acetylaminofluorene and the Weibull model

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1981
Abstract The Weibull model for dose-response functions in carcinogenesis is explored with respect to the results from the large experiment with 2-acetylaminofluorene (2-AAF). Several generalized forms of the Weibull model are presented. Also, the hypothesis of ‘low-dose linearity’ is tested with the data for 2-AAF.
