Migration of Per‐ and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in Soil Under Rainfall Simulation

open access: yesCLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, Volume 54, Issue 4, April 2026.
A rainfall simulation is conducted to evaluate the migration of PFAS in soil spiked with aqueous‐film‐forming foam during rainfall. Most PFAS migrate via leaching, followed by runoff. High PFAS concentration in soil (⩾30 mg/kg) could alter soil hydraulic conductivity and inhibits leaching.

Incorporating Plantain Into a Perennial Ryegrass–White Clover Mixed Sward for an Environmentally Sustainable Dairy System: A Three‐Year Farm System Study

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, Volume 69, Issue 2, April 2026.
Over three production years (2021–2024), this study investigated the effects of incorporating plantain into a perennial ryegrass–white clover (RGWC) mixed sward on dairy farm productivity and environmental footprint. Seventy‐two Friesian × Jersey cows were allocated to six farmlets across two replicated herbage treatments (n = 3): RGWC with no plantain

Low-cost weighing lysimeter: development, calibration, and evaluation

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Tropical
Weighing lysimeters, which directly measure mass variations in the soil-plant system, provide high precision, but are typically costly, limiting their large-scale use. As an affordable alternative, six low-cost weighing lysimeters

Determination of crop-coefficients and estimation of evapotranspiration of rapeseed using lysimeter and different reference evapotranspiration models

open access: yesJournal of Agrometeorology, 2020
Accurate estimation of evapotranspiration of rapeseed is essentially required for irrigation scheduling and water management. The present study was undertaken during 2015-16 and 2017-18 in ICR Farm, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat to determine ...

Lysimeter and In Situ Field Experiments to Study Soil Evaporation Through a Dry Soil Layer Under Semi‐Arid Climate

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2023
During droughts, soil evaporation is often constrained by water vapor transport through an air‐dry soil layer (DSL). Fick's water vapor diffusion is widely regarded as the only process for such transport; however, field studies conducted in arid and semi‐

Estimation of Regional Evapotranspiration Using Remotely Sensed Land Surface Temperature. Part 1: Measurement of Evapotranspiration at the Environmental Research Center and Determination of Priestley-taylor Parameter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
In order to study the distribution of evapotranspiration in the humid region using remote sensing technology, the parameter (alpha) in the Priestley-Taylor model was determined.

Guidelines for validating Bowen ratio data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
For a variety of reasons, the measurement of latent heat flux using the Bowen ratio method can sometimes result in erroneous data. This study provides guidelines for detecting erroneous Bowen ratio data and illustrates the application of these guidelines

Calculation of water balance of the weighing lysimeter for assessment of aquifer recharge

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2019
Ljubljana field aquifer is an important source of drinking water for the Ljubljana city and surrounding areas. Knowledge of the water balance and of the water flow dynamics through the unsaturated zone and recharge of Ljubljana field aquifer is crucial ...

Evapotranspiration estimation in rain gardens using soil moisture sensors

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, 2021
Rain gardens are increasing in use as the shift from gray to green infrastructure continues. Water that enters a rain garden is removed by three mechanisms: overflow to an outlet, percolation to the underlying soil, and evapotranspiration (ET) to the ...

Resposta de plantas jovens de limeira-ácida 'Tahiti' a diferentes níveis de irrigação [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different irrigation levels on canopy and root growth, productivity, and fruit quality of young ‘Tahiti’ acid lime trees. The experiment was installed in Piracicaba, Brazil in a 1.0-ha orchard plot with
