Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Analysis of Symmetry of Weight-Bearing in Athletes With and Without Low Back Pain during Gait

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Sport Science, 2018
Background. Low Back Pain (LBP) is a prevalent phenomenon in athletes and asymmetrical loading on the limbs has been proposed as a risk factor related to this disease. Objectives.

The effect of weight-bearing training with visual feedback on balance and prosthetic loading in trans-tibial amputees following vascular disease – a pilot randomized control trial

open access: yesAnnals of Medicine
Purpose Asymmetrical weight-bearing on trans-tibial prosthesis at the initial prosthetic fitting results in a modified gait and secondary disorders. The pilot study will examine the feasibility of the weight-bearing training with visual feedback in trans-

Do Patellofemoral Pain Patients Have Higher Loading Rate Compared to Healthy Indivalues? A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

open access: yesPhysical Treatments, 2022
Purpose: Higher loading rates have been associated with injuries, plantar fasciitis, tibia bone stress injuries, knee osteoarthritis, and patellofemoral pain (PFP). The aim of this study is to evaluate the loading rate in PFP patients compared to healthy

The Cartilaginous Tissue Regeneration on Weight Bearing and Non-weight Bearing Surfaces of the Knee

open access: yes, 2022
Regeneration of articular cartilage is a major problem in the field of orthopedic surgery and regenerative medicine. Most research on cartilage regeneration performed on rabbits, tests the possibilities of cartilage regeneration on the non-weight bearing surfaces of the distal femur - in the trochlear groove of the femur, giving less importance to the ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Combining textured insoles and compelled body weight shift improves lower limb function and gait in individuals with stroke: a randomised controlled trial

open access: yesHuman Movement
Purpose To assess the effects of combining textured insoles (TI; plantar somatosensory stimulation) with compelled body weight shift (CBWS) on lower limb motor function, gait, and sensory function in stroke patients.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.
