Comparison between tridimensional high resolution T1-weighted (T1 3D HR) frontal images from the same forefoot, respectively weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing, illustrating the difference in articular cartilage thickness and delineation between both conditions.

open access: yes, 2019
Articular cartilage is thicker and better delineated on the non-weight-bearing compared to the weight-bearing images. Lateral is to the left.

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Do Patellofemoral Pain Patients Have Higher Loading Rate Compared to Healthy Indivalues? A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

open access: yesPhysical Treatments, 2022
Purpose: Higher loading rates have been associated with injuries, plantar fasciitis, tibia bone stress injuries, knee osteoarthritis, and patellofemoral pain (PFP). The aim of this study is to evaluate the loading rate in PFP patients compared to healthy

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Using cell‐free RNA to identify B‐ and T‐cell clonality for diagnosis and monitoring of B‐ and T‐cell neoplasms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using peripheral blood for determining B‐cell or T‐cell clonality is more reliable when we use cell‐free RNA (cfRNA) because cells release blood significantly more RNA than DNA. Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) of cfRNA allows us to evaluate fragment cfRNA and evaluate clonality reliably without the need for prior determination of the specific dominant

Immediate effects of ultrasound therapy on pain and plantar pressure in individuals with subacute ankle sprains: a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesPhysiotherapy Quarterly
Introduction Despite the fact that ultrasound (US) therapy is not advised for acute ankle sprains, its therapeutic effects may be beneficial for other stages of ankle sprains, such as a subacute ankle sprain.

Comparative assessment of crystallographic and cryo‐EM models in the Protein Data Bank

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Raw data obtained by X‐ray crystallography or cryo‐EM result in experimental maps, ultimately fitted by atomic models. Although the physical principles are different, the final results can be viewed, compared, and evaluated in the same way. With cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) on track to surpass X‐ray crystallography as the preferred method ...
