The influence of synaptic weight distribution on neuronal population dynamics.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2013
The manner in which different distributions of synaptic weights onto cortical neurons shape their spiking activity remains open. To characterize a homogeneous neuronal population, we use the master equation for generalized leaky integrate-and-fire ...

Two weighted distributions generated by exponential distribution

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Extension, 2015
Summary: In this paper, we propose new classes of weighted distributions by incorporating exponential distribution in Azzalini's method. Resulting weighted models generated by exponential distribution are: the weighted gamma-exponential model and the weighted generalized exponential-exponential model. The hazard rate function of these distributions has

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Resolving Conflicts in Data Through Curation-informed Weight Distribution Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Curation
Missing and conflicting data values create problems when integrating datasets from multiple collections. Moreover, when the collections to be integrated are large and continuously updated, it is not feasible to manually resolve these problems.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

The Equipment Layout and Bolt Type Analysis for Ankara Metro Vehicles

open access: yes机车电传动, 2015
Combining the characteristics of the stainless steel vehicles, considering the premise of the vehicle gauge, weight distribution and the place requirement of equipment installation and maintenance, a reasonable system layout plan was provided, as well as

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Does structural leg-length discrepancy affect postural control? Preliminary study

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2017
Background Leg-length inequality results in an altered position of the spine and pelvis. Previous studies on the influence of leg asymmetry on postural control have been inconclusive.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
