The weight distribution of cosets

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1994
Summary: Sullivan's inequality between the weight distribution function of a binary linear code and the weight distribution function of a proper subset of the code [see \textit{D. D. Sullivan}, IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory 13, 91-94 (1967; Zbl 0163.144)] is generalized to linear codes over arbitrary finite fields.

Weighted Distributions and Rotating Caps

Biometrika, 1982
In the analysis of astrophysical data assumed to lie on the celestial sphere, new directional data techniques are necessary when the monitoring station is on the earth's surface. Weighted spherical random variables are introduced and investigated for the cases when the true underlying distributions are either uniform, or of the Fisher or Dimroth-Watson

Weight distribution of codes on hypergraphs

2008 46th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing, 2008
Codes on hypergraphs are an extension of the well-studied family of codes on bipartite graphs. Bilu and Hoory (2004) constructed an explicit family of codes on regular t-partite hypergraphs whose minimum distance improves earlier estimates of the distance of bipartite-graph codes.

Generalized Weighted Exponential Distribution

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2014
The new class of weighted exponential (WE) distributions obtained by Gupta and Kundu (2009) by implementing Azzalini's method to the exponential distribution. In this study, we generalize the WE distribution to a new class of generalized weighted exponential (GWE) distribution.

On power distribution in weighted voting

Social Choice and Welfare, 2005
We study here the strategic possibilities in a voting system where, in weight terms, there is a single main agent and the others are equivalent. As an alternative to the coalition formation, we suggest for the minor agents a more discreet, anonymous and solidary behavior based on commitments referred to the size of the coalitions that they would agree ...
