ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Further Improved Weighted Arithmetic-Geometric Operator Mean Inequalities
The main purpose of this paper is to present some weighted arithmetic-geometric operator mean inequalities. These inequalities are refinements and generalizations of the corresponding results.

Multiple Attribute Decision-Making Based on Three-Parameter Generalized Weighted Heronian Mean
For the aggregation problem of attributes with a correlation relationship, it is often necessary to take the correlation factor into account in order to make the decision results more objective and reasonable. The Heronian mean is an aggregation operator

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

On the Čebyšev's inequality for weighted means [PDF]
For real \(n\)-tuples \(a=(a_1,\dots,a_n),b=(b_1,\dots,b_n)\) and for a weight sequence \(p=(p_1,\dots,p_n)\) with \(p_i\geq 0, P_n=\sum_{i=1}^np_i>0\) the weighted Chebyshev's functional is defined by \[ T(p;a,b)=\frac{1}{P_n}\sum_{i=1}^np_ia_ib_i -\frac{1}{P_n}\sum_{i=1}^np_ia_i\cdot\frac{1}{P_n}\sum_{i=1}^np_ib_i.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Novel Adaptive Weighted Mean Filter
Based on the advantages and disadvantages of the standard median filter and the standard mean filter,a new Adaptive Weighted Mean Filter(AWFM)was proposed in this paper. The filter window’s size of every pixel was adaptively adjusted. Then the suspicious ...
