On the best Hardy constant for quasi-arithmetic means and homogeneous deviation means [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to characterize the so-called Hardy means, i.e., those means $M\colon\bigcup_{n=1}^\infty \mathbb{R}_+^n\to\mathbb{R}_+$ that satisfy the inequality $$ \sum_{n=1}^\infty M(x_1,\dots,x_n) \le C\sum_{n=1}^\infty x_n $$ for all ...

Good reduction of Fano threefolds and sextic surfaces [PDF]
We investigate versions of the Shafarevich conjecture, as proved for curves and abelian varieties by Faltings, for other classes of varieties. We first obtain analogues for certain Fano threefolds. We use these results to prove the Shafarevich conjecture

On the local and global comparison of generalized Bajraktarevi\'c means [PDF]
Given two continuous functions $f,g:I\to\mathbb{R}$ such that $g$ is positive and $f/g$ is strictly monotone, a measurable space $(T,A)$, a measurable family of $d$-variable means $m: I^d\times T\to I$, and a probability measure $\mu$ on the measurable ...

Invariance of quasi-arithmetic means with function weights
In this paper some existence results are presented for the functional equation \[ \begin{multlined} \lambda(x,y)\phi^{-1}\left(\mu(x,y)\phi(x)+(1-\mu(x,y)\right)\phi(y)\\ +(1-\lambda(x,y))\psi^{-1}\left( \nu (x,y)\psi(x)+(1-\nu(x,y)\psi(y)\right)\\ =\lambda(x,y)x+(1-\lambda(x,y))y, \end{multlined} \] where \(\phi, \psi: I\to {\mathbb R}\) are ...

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Approximation of proximities by aggregating T-indistinguishability operators [PDF]
For a continuous Archimedean t-norm T a method to approximate a proximity relation R (i.e. a reflexive and symmetric fuzzy relation) by a T-transitive one is provided.

Generalized Bhattacharyya and Chernoff upper bounds on Bayes error using quasi-arithmetic means
Bayesian classification labels observations based on given prior information, namely class-a priori and class-conditional probabilities. Bayes' risk is the minimum expected classification cost that is achieved by the Bayes' test, the optimal decision ...

Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

On the commutation of generalized means on probability spaces [PDF]
Let $f$ and $g$ be real-valued continuous injections defined on a non-empty real interval $I$, and let $(X, \mathscr{L}, \lambda)$ and $(Y, \mathscr{M}, \mu)$ be probability spaces in each of which there is at least one measurable set whose measure is ...
