Families and subfamilies inhabiting temperate regions exhibit increasing transition frequencies and decreasing transversion frequencies with increasing genetic divergence, resulting in a pronounced transition–transversion bias. Satellite‐linked tags on 34 southern right whales revealed basin‐scale movements and foraging concentrated in the ACC, Crozet Islands, Benguela system, and the highly variable seasonal ice zone.
