Improving Biodiversity Surveillance in Arid Systems With Environmental DNA: Detection of Sceloporus Lizards in Texas

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 4, July‐August 2026.
eDNA detection rate did not significantly differ among individuals and was not statistically associated with incubation time. However, the number of positive detections was doubled in samples extracted following CTAB extraction methods. ABSTRACT Arid lands account for over 40% of the terrestrial habitat on Earth yet rank among the least studied ...

The Cullochy weir breach and weir reconstruction

Dams and Reservoirs, 2017
The Caledonian Canal breached in flood conditions at Cullochy Weir on 8 March 2015. The result was an uncontrolled release of water from the canal and the adjoining Loch Oich Reservoir. Scottish Canals worked with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to effect a closure of the breach, reopen canal, and then to reconstruct the weir.

Weir

Proceedings of the Seventh Workshop on Programming Languages and Operating Systems, 2013
For modern software systems, performance analysis can be a challenging task. The software stack can be a complex, multi-layer, multi-component, concurrent, and parallel environment with multiple contexts of execution and multiple sources of performance data.

Weir velocity formulation for sharp-crested rectangular weirs

Flow Measurement and Instrumentation, 2015
Abstract Discharge in open channels can be measured by sharp-crested rectangular weirs. Generally, measured head over the weir crest is substituted into an empirical formula derived from energy considerations to calculate the discharge. Assumptions made on the derivation are taken into account by defining a discharge coefficient that fits into the ...
