Iridium Oxide Inverse Opal Anodes with Tailored Porosity for Efficient PEM Electrolysis
The synthesis of Iridium‐based Inverse Opals (Ir‐IO) is reported as electrocatalyst for Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEM‐WE). Using the developed protocol it produces highly porous materials consisting either of metallic, oxidic Iridium or a combination thereof with large surface areas.

Metallographic evaluation of the weldability of high strength aluminium alloys using friction spot welding [PDF]
Friction spot welding is a recent solid-state welding technique well suited for spot-joining lightweight materials in overlap condition. Aerospace and transport industries show great interest in this technique to join high-strength aluminium alloys, but ...

Influence of Hysteresis on Magnetocaloric Performance at Cryogenic Temperatures: A Tb3Ni Case Study
The existence of an inverse magnetocaloric effect in metamagnetic materials at cryogenic temperatures is investigated using multiple methods. Contrary to predictions from magnetization data, neither specific heat nor pulsed‐field measurements show such a cooling effect, instead indicating irreversible heating.

Understanding Pore Formation in Laser Beam Welding
AbstractThe mechanisms leading to process pores in deep penetration laser beam welding are discussed in this paper. Process pores were observed since the beginning of laser welding. Although there are differences in the number, size and location of the pores depending on the used laser type and beam parameters, process pores are a common problem for ...

Investigation of metal flow in bridge die extrusion of Alloy 6063 and subsequent effect on surface quality and weld seam integrity [PDF]
This paper describes a detailed study of tube extrusion by simulation using finite element method (FEM). The finite element model used one-sixth of symmetry. The extrusion load, emperature evolution and metal flow were predicted.

Mechanism of Porosity Formation in Laser Welding.
This paper described a model of the porosity formation mechanism and its experimental verification in laser welding. Porosities formed in the molten zone were classified into microporosity and macroporosity according to the porosity size. Moreover, the characteristics of porosities formed in laser welding of the thermal-conductive mode and keyhole mode
