Effect of post-weld heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of 7055 aluminum alloy electron beam welded joint

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
The spray forming 7055 aluminum alloy is welded by electron beam welding (EBW). After welding, the single solution treatments under different temperatures and then aging treatment (STA) and the stepped solution treatment and then aging treatment (SSTA ...

Lightweight design of a suspension arm by friction stir welding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The research seeks initially to investigate why a greater shift to lightweight technologies for suspension design has not occurred already over the mass market vehicle sector.

Repeatability and Parasitic Out‐of‐Plane Motion in Controlled Rocking Structures With Cylindrical Columns: Results From Triaxial Shake Table Tests

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Self‐centering rocking structures outperform conventional ones since they show zero post‐earthquake damage and excellent recentering; however, their applications remain limited due to concerns that rocking is extremely sensitive and nonrepeatable. This paper investigates the repeatability and parasitic out‐of‐plane motion of controlled rocking

A Novel Bipolar DC Connection Strategy for Photovoltaic Power Plants With a 50% Reduction in DC Cabling Length

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Bipolar configuration is a new topology in the direct current (DC) system of photovoltaic power plants, which is topologically analogous to the bipolar configuration utilised in High‐Voltage Direct Current power transmission systems. DC cable length and copper usage are reduced by 50% using a bipolar configuration.

Low Cycle Fatigue Behaviors of Q345B Steel and Welded Joint

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2015
:Low cycle fatigue behaviors of Q345B steel and smooth welded joint were experimentally investigated. The tests were carried out on a servo-hydraulic machine under fully reversed strain-control at constant strain rate of 0.005 s-1.

Double-sided friction stir welding of 2195 aluminum-lithium alloy

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
Based on the response surface design, the optimal process parameters for single-side friction stir welding(FSW) of 2195 Al-Li alloy sheets are studied. It is found that the higher the rotation speed and the lower the welding speed, the higher the tensile

Creation of a Landslide Susceptibility Map Using Short‐Term Data From the July 2018 Heavy Rainfall in Southern Hiroshima Prefecture

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
This work advances landslide susceptibility mapping by incorporating short‐term trigger data with landscape susceptibility mapping. We also examine the importance of downsampling, watershed delineation and geospatial correlations in evaluating outcomes.

Effects of magnetic field and post-weld heat treatment on microstructure and properties of laser welded joints of 22MnB5-TRIP590 steel

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Laser welding without and with an auxiliary magnetic field (B = 30 mT) is performed on 22MnB5-TRIP590 steel. Subsequently, post-weld heat treatment, involving quenching at 800 °C followed by tempering at 200 °C, is carried out on the welded joints ...

The method for reproducing fine grained HAZ of W strengthened high Cr steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The methods for reproducing fine grained heat affected zone of high Cr steel for creep test were investigated. This research was motivated by the need for reproducing uniform FGHAZ to investigate the creep damage process and untangle the coupling between

Identification and correlation of the Aso‐3 tephra in the Omaezaki area, central Japan: A valuable key stratum for the MIS 6/5 transition period

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Aso‐3 tephra is one of the most significant widespread marker layers from the Middle to Late Pleistocene, generated by a large caldera‐forming eruption at the Aso volcano in Kyushu, southwestern Japan. Despite its importance, a distal co‐ignimbrite ash correlative has yet to be clearly identified, primarily because although volcanic glass ...
