Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating
This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.

Capillary flow weld-bonding [PDF]
The invention of a weld-bonding technique for titanium plates was described. This involves fastening at least two plates of titanium together using spot-welding and applying a bead of adhesive along the edge of the resistance spot-welded joint which upon

This review highlights the integration of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and two‐dimensional (2D) materials through dimensional interface engineering. By addressing intrinsic limitations like poor conductivity and agglomeration, these hybrid architectures optimize interfacial charge and mass transport.

X-ray film holder permits single continuous picture of tubing joint [PDF]
X ray technique produces a clear continuous picture of a welded brazed tubing joint on a single film with one exposure. A stationary X ray source located in the plane of the joint to be inspected, a means of rotating the tube, and a unique internal film ...

On the use of the Peak Stress Method for the calculation of Residual Notch Stress Intensity Factors: a preliminary investigation [PDF]
Residual stresses induced by welding processes significantly affect the engineering properties of structural components. If the toe region of a butt-welded joint is modeled as a sharp V-notch, the distribution of the residual stresses in that zone is ...

Crack Repair in Hydroxyapatite Bioceramics Using an Ultraviolet Ultrafast Laser
The study proposes an ultrafast ultraviolet laser approach to repair hidden tooth cracks, which has been preliminarily validated on HAP. Moreover, this technique aims to strengthen the native enamel structure rather than introducing a foreign filling material.

Determination of stress concentration factors in offshore wind welded structures through a hybrid experimental and numerical approach [PDF]
Offshore wind turbine (OWT) monopile support structures generally consist of steel cans connected together through circumferential welding joints. One critical factor to evaluate the localised increase in stresses is the stress concentration factor (SCF)
