Estimation of multi-pass welds deformations with Virtual Weld Bead method

open access: yesProcedia Structural Integrity, 2020
Abstract Prediction of welding deformations using Computational Welding Mechanics in fields like shipbuilding and steel construction is limited by numerical reasons. Parallelization does not scale well with non-linear mechanical problems, therefore residual deformations on large structures could only be predicted with simplified methods.

Ultra‐Thin Soft Pneumatic Actuation for Minimally Invasive Neural Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parylene C is a common polymer in bioelectronics, favored for its biological and chemical inertness. However, this makes bonding layers of Parylene C together very challenging. Here it is a laser to selectively weld layers of Parylene C to create high‐pressure fluidic actuation devices.

Statistical Properties of Welding Parameters and Deformations in Butt Welding Joint with Backing Plate. Statistical Treatment of Welding Deformations. Report 2.

open access: yesQUARTERLY JOURNAL OF THE JAPAN WELDING SOCIETY, 2001
Welding deformation is complexly affected by different factors, and that is predicted to depend on the skills of welding operatives, being affected by welding parameters such as the welding current, arc voltage and welding speed. It is therefore desirable to treat welding deformations statically.
