Crystal Growth Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Metal Plating
This research employed the rare‐earth ion dysprosium (Dy) to modulate aqueous zinc (Zn) metal plating. Integrated multiscale experiments and computational modeling unveiled the preferential adsorption of Dy on specific crystal facets, which activated screw dislocation‐driven Zn growth.

ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...

The improvement of the welding speed becomes extraordinarily difficult for the friction stir welding (FSW) of Al–Li alloys with medium thickness (5–10 mm). In this study, 2195-T8 Al alloy plates with a thickness of 6 mm were subjected to FSW under different welding speeds of 200–800 mm/min with the objective of seeking an optimised welding parameter ...
