Reservoir quality evaluation of the Farewell sandstone by integrating sedimentological and well log analysis in the Kupe South Field, Taranaki Basin-New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
The study used the sedimentological and well log-based petrophysical analysis to evaluate the Farewell sandstone, the reservoir formation within the Kupe South Field.

Efficient Redundancy Techniques for Latency Reduction in Cloud Systems

open access: yes, 2017
In cloud computing systems, assigning a task to multiple servers and waiting for the earliest copy to finish is an effective method to combat the variability in response time of individual servers, and reduce latency.

Thermal structure of hot non-flaring corona from Hinode/EIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In previous studies a very hot plasma component has been diagnosed in solar active regions through the images in three different narrow-band channels of SDO/AIA.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Analysis of deep stress field using well log and wellbore breakout data: a case study in Cretaceous oil reservoir, southwest Iran

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2018
To identify the wellbore instability of Bangestan oil reservoir in the southwestern Iran, the direction and magnitude of stresses were determined using two different methods in this study. Results of injection test and analysis of wellbore breakouts were

Geophysical well logging operations and log analysis in Geothermal Well Desert Peak No. B-23-1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Geothermal Well Desert Peak No. B-23-1 was logged by Dresser Atlas during April/May 1979 to a total depth of 2939 m (9642 ft). A temperature of 209/sup 0/C (408/sup 0/F) was observed on the maximum thermometer run with one of the logging tools. Borehole tools rated to a maximum temperature of 204.4/sup 0/C (400/sup 0/F) were utilized for logging except

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) Lithology Identification Based on Wavelet Analysis and Dimensionality Reduction as Well Log Data Pre-Processing Techniques

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Although the group method of data handling (GMDH) is a self-organizing metaheuristic neural network capable of developing a classification function using influential input variables, the results can be improved by using some pre-processing steps. In this

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
