Resistivity Measurements And Modeling In The Vicinity Of A Trench Well
10th EEGS Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems, 1997On North Andros Island, Bahamas, an extensive array of trench wells has been dug to collect fresh water from the surface (unconfined) aquifer for export to Nassau. There is concern that salt water will upcone below the trenches if water is withdrawn too rapidly.

Why is Anti-Microbial Resistance a Veterinary Problem As Well?
Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series B, 2001Resistance to anti‐microbial agents has become one of the main issues in public health strategies world‐wide. Much attention has been paid to the emergence of pathogenic micro‐organisms such as enterococci orSalmonellathat have developed resistance mechanisms that render them almost untreatable with current antibiotics.

uRANIA: A micro-Resistive WELL for neutron detection
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2022The goal of the uRANIA-V (μ-RWELL Advanced Neutron Imaging Apparatus) project is the development of an innovative thermal neutron detector based on μ-RWELL technology. The μ-RWELL is a reliable, cost effective, easily scalable, resistive MPGD. A thin layer of 10B4C on the cathode surface allows the thermal neutron conversion into products easily ...

Application of array resistivity measurements in horizontal wells
The Leading Edge, 2000Horizontal and highly deviated wells have significantly increased the industry's ability to efficiently produce hydrocarbons from formations where recovery otherwise would not be economic. For example, horizontal wells allow access to hydrocarbons in thin, stratigraphic intervals or where they are sandwiched between an expanding gas cap and an active ...

A New Resistivity Logging Method in Production Well
Advanced Materials Research, 2012This paper presents a new method for resistivity logging in production well. Based on electromagnetic theory, an electromagnetic response model is established for multi-cylindrical-layer, and the general expressions for through casing electromagnetic logging are deduced.

NEW RESULTS IN RESISTIVITY WELL LOGGING*
Geophysical Prospecting, 1975AbstractTwo independent theoretical analyses show that, spacing for spacing, the two‐electrode normal device investigates deeper than the seven‐electrode focused Laterolog 7. The first analysis, published earlier, compares the radii of investigation of the different sondes from the portion of the ground that contributes maximum to, or fifty percent of,

Compaction Resistant Wellbore for Sand-Producing Wells
Canadian International Petroleum Conference, 2004Abstract A common production strategy from heavy oil sands is to produce the sand with the oil to maintain, or even increase, the deliverability of the well. Where very high sand production is realized, the cumulative sand volume "mined" from the reservoir can be very large.

Lineshape of the resistance resonance in coupled quantum wells
Superlattices and Microstructures, 1992Abstract Details of the resistance resonance effect in strongly coupled quantum wells are measured over a wide range of densities. The shape of the resistance resonance curve is described by a simple model. The fit provides a new method for determination of the coupling energy between the two quantum wells.

Resistance modulation effect in n-well CMOS
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1985The characteristics of n-well CMOS latchup have been measured and quantitatively analyzed. It was found that the resistance of the substrate and of the well modulated by minority-carrier injection from the emitter of the parasitic bipolar transistors, and that the latchup trigger current was about two times larger than that calculated without the ...

Geometrical resonance in the resistivity of wide quantum wells
Physica E: Low-dimensional Systems and Nanostructures, 2002Abstract We studied size-effects in wide parabolic quantum wells by measuring the low field magnetoresistance in perpendicular and parallel magnetic field configurations. We have also studied the evolutions of the resistivity oscillations as a function of the electron sheet density N S , by in situ illumination of the samples at the temperature of
