The Evolution of Sesame Seed Allergy Over Time

This study analyzes the natural history of sesame over time and the changes in biomarkers between sesame allergic and sesame sensitised but tolerant children. The period prevalence of sesame allergy increased from 0.5% between 12 and 36 m to 1.5% between 7 and 12 y children in the EAT‐On study with 10 children developing new sesame allergy. Sesame‐sIgE

Optimising the Diagnosis of Sesame Seed Allergy With the Basophil Activation Test

The basophil activation test (using the activation marker CD203c) was the only test able to both exclude and confirm sesame seed allergy with precision. A negative skin prick test to sesame extract or tahini and undetectable IgE to Ses i 1 could not rule out sesame seed allergy.

Preventive Application of House Dust Mite‐Sublingual Immunotherapy Induces Blocking Antibodies in Sensitized Preschool Children

HDM‐pSLIT induced IgG, IgG1, and IgG4 specific to major HDM allergens in sensitized non‐allergic preschool children without increasing HDM‐sIgE. It blunted the development of new sensitizations and reduced HDM reactivity in skin and basophils. HDM‐pSLIT treated children displayed a blocking effect on HDM‐induced basophil activation.

Determinants of Poor Health‐Related Quality of Life in Patients With Food Allergy

Machine‐learning analysis of 502 well‐characterised food‐allergic patients was used to identify key determinants of poor FA‐HRQL, defined as FAQLQ ≥ 5. The most relevant predictors were adult age, female sex, multiple food allergies, severe reactions, need for urgent care, onset before 18 years, and longer disease duration.

Maternal Prebiotic Supplementation Modifies Associations Between Intrapartum Antibiotics and Infant Allergy

This study examined whether antibiotic use altered the risk of infant allergic disease within a maternal prebiotics supplementation trial. Intrapartum antibiotics were maternal antibiotics administered during childbirth, from the onset of labour or induction until 1‐h before delivery.
