Abstract Springtime warming over Northern Mid‐High‐latitude Land profoundly affects plant life cycles and water resources, yet large model uncertainty limits climate risk assessment. Here, we develop a novel emergent constraint that targets the key uncertainty source—model divergence in surface‐albedo feedback linked to historical snowmelt sensitivity.

Underground Brines of the Tunguska Artesian Basin (West Siberian Plate)
AbstractA short review on the chemical composition of underground brines is presented. Diagrams of brine saturation of upper-saline, saline, and under-saline formations have been determined with respect to common minerals of the water-bearing rock. It is shown that even brines of 300-500 g/dm3 are not equilibrated with primary (endogenic) minerals, as ...

Coordination and Sustainability of River Observing Activities in the Arctic [PDF]
To understand and respond to changes in the world’s northern regions, we need a coordinated system of long-term Arctic observations. River networks naturally integrate across landscapes and link the terrestrial and ocean domains.

Strike-slip deformations in the West Siberian Basin and their impact on exploration and development of oil and gas reservoirs [PDF]
Extensive 3D seismic exploration has revealed in much of the West Siberian petroliferous basin area a special type of faults and deformations within the sedimentary cover, caused by low-separation basement strike-slip faults.

Temporal and spatial variations in maximum river discharge from a new Russian data set [PDF]
Floods cause more damage in Russia than any other natural disaster, and future climate model projections suggest that the frequency and magnitude of extreme hydrological events will increase in Russia with climate change.
