Dry ball milling and wet ball milling for fabricating copper–yttria composites

Rare Metals, 2018
Abstract Yttria‐reinforced copper matrix composites were prepared by dry ball milling (DBM) and wet ball milling (WBM), respectively, followed by spark plasma sintering (SPS). It is to determine which milling process is better for fabricating Cu–Y 2 O 3

Physicochemical properties of ball milled boron particles: Dry vs. wet ball milling process

Powder Technology, 2015
Abstract Physicochemical properties of both dry and wet milled boron particles with sub-micron sizes were investigated. Milling process was performed in N2 atmosphere and the mass ratio of tungsten carbide ball and boron was fixed at 20:1. It was found that the size distribution of boron particles grinded under dry milling condition was much broader ...

Contamination in wet-ball milling

Powder Metallurgy, 2017
ABSTRACTThe top–down approach of mechanical ball milling/alloying is the most commonly adopted route towards materials development. It is however surprising that despite the large impact that it has, process induced contamination (particularly from process control agents (PCAs)), remains less studied and often ignored.

Experimental Study on Optimization of Wet Desulfurization of Wet Ball Mill System

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
In this paper, the output can not meet the operating requirements problems of power plant desulfurization device wet mill system operation, site of the optimization test of wet mill system, optimization and adjustment, wet mill output and fineness of limestone reached or better than the design value, the operation time was shortened, and achieved good ...

Modelling Continuous Wet Ball Mill Grinding

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1974
Two models of continuous wet ball mill qrinding are presented. The first is well suited for simulation of the grinding process, the second intended for use in mill circuit control systems.

Polymorphic Transformation of PbO by Isothermal Wet Ball‐Milling

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1971
Mechanochemical polymorphic transformation of massicot to litharge was achieved by isothermal wet ball‐milling. A first‐order relation was observed between the fractional conversion and the milling time; the apparent activation energies for various milling conditions were obtained by kinetic treatments.

One-pot wet ball-milling for waste wire-harness recycling

Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management, 2021
In this study, we developed a one-pot wet ball-milling method for the recovery of highly pure copper wire, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) coating, and diisononyl phthalate (DINP) plasticizer from waste wire harnesses. n-Butyl acetate, acetone, or ethyl acetate was used as the solvent to simultaneously extract the DINP and separate the Cu and PVC, by ...

Formation of titanium nitrides via wet reaction ball milling

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2000
A new mechanochemical route to synthesize TiN has been developed by ball milling elemental titanium powders with the organic compound pyrazine in a benzene solution for periods of up to 336 h. The structures of the milled powders were examined by means of X-ray diffractometry. Titanium nitrides were formed directly during the milling.
