A Quantitative Treatment of Size Reduction in Wet Ball Millings

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1979
AbstractThe decrease in geometric mean particle size during wet ball milling follows a reciprocal relationship, which predicts an initial rapid rate of comminution, followed by a slow rate of reduction which develops into a situation where the mean particle size virtually remains constant.

A study of the exit classification effect in wet ball milling

Powder Technology, 2004
It is consistently found in wet ball milling, under the conditions normally used in production mills, that the larger sieve size intervals of the product size distributions do not contain as much material as predicted by the first-order mill simulation models. Four methods of correcting for this effect were investigated.

Decomposition of NO3− by lead pellets with wet ball milling

Waste Management, 1999
Abstract The reduction of an ammonium nitrate solution by lead pellets during wet ball milling was studied, as a method of removing concentrated NO 3 − from wastewater. Metal oxides forming on the surface of lead pellets in a ball mill reactor are continuously removed by contact between the pellets.

Wet fine grinding in a laboratory stirred ball mill

2010
Fine grinding involves a large number of parameters in its operation. In this study, the effect of some parameters such as initial particle size, filling volume of the ball and ball size distribution on fine grinding of calcite powders (-200, -150 and -100 ?m) using a laboratory stirred ball mill was studied under wet conditions. Zirconia beads (ZrSiO4)

Modeling of operating parameters for wet ball mill by modified GA-KPLS

Third International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence, 2010
Load of the ball mill affects the productivity, quality and energy consumption of the grinding process. But sensors are not available for the direct measurement of the key parameters for mill load (ML). A new soft sensor approach based on the shell vibration signals to measure the operating parameters is proposed in this paper.

Modelling of mill load for wet ball mill via GA and SVM based on spectral feature

2010 IEEE Fifth International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA), 2010
The load of wet ball mill is a key parameter for grinding process, which affects the productivity, quality and energy consumption. A new soft sensor approach based on the mill shell vibration signal is proposed in this paper. As the frequency domain signal contains more evidently information than time domain, the power spectral density (PSD) of the ...

Dolomite wet comminution in planetary ball mill

2007
Proces mokrog usitnjavanja često se koristi kako bi se u procesu usitnjavanja spriječilo aglomeriranje materijala. To će rezultirati znatnom uštedom energije i povećanjem učinka procesa. Reološko ponašanje suspenzija dobivenih u procesu mokrog usitnjavanja ovisi o nizu čimbenika: procesnim uvjetima (broj okretaja mlina, broj tijela za usitnjavanje ...

Crystallinity and surface state of cellulose in wet ball‐milling process

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2017
ABSTRACTWe report the effect of wet ball‐milling process under mild neutral salt conditions on the alteration of crystallinity and surface state of microcrystalline cellulose (MC). The ball‐milling experiments were performed when the MC was immersed in H2O, NaCl aqueous solution, and KCl aqueous solution. Two collation groups, i.e., MC immersed in H2O2

Effects of dry and wet ball milling on physicochemical properties of foxtail millet

Food Chemistry
As a high-quality cereal rich in various nutritional elements, the impact of different processing methods on the characteristics of foxtail millet flour has attracted widespread attention. The study aimed to investigate the physicochemical properties of foxtail millet flour after both dry and wet ball milling processes.
