Wet Single Clutch Engagement Behaviors in the Dual-Clutch Transmission System
International Journal of Automotive Technology, 2018A frictional torque was generated by a lubricated slip contact between a wet clutch pad and a steel separator during a wet clutch engagement. It is necessary to understand the generation of frictional torque to improve the performance of the frictional torque transfer and the durability of the wet clutch system.

Influence of Clutch Output Shaft Inertia and Stiffness on the Performance of the Wet Clutch
Tribology Transactions, 2013Being a part of the complex mass, spring, and damper system in a driveline, the choice of design factors such as output shaft stiffness and inertia of a wet clutch system can influence its performance. The effects of these parameters were experimentally evaluated.

Wet Clutch Drag Loss Simulation for Different Clutch Patterns
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2022<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Wet clutches drag loss simulation is essentially linked to the clutch friction surface patterns in addition to the main geometry and conditions of the interface (relative speed, separation, inner and outer radius, viscosity and boundary pressures).

Thermal Characteristics of a Wet Clutch
Journal of Tribology, 1999A comprehensive formulation of the governing equations, boundary conditions, and numerical solution technique is presented for modeling the thermal aspects of the engagement process in a wet clutch. The thermal model includes full consideration of the viscous heat dissipation in the fluid as well as heat transfer into the separator, friction material ...

Pressure Estimation of a Wet Clutch
2014In both DCTs and new ATs, the change of the speed ratio is regarded as the process of one clutch being engaged with the other being disengaged, namely, the clutch-to-clutch shift. For vehicles with a hydraulic cylinder as clutch actuator, the cylinder pressure control is important for good shift quality.

On the Behaviour of Scalarization Methods for the Engagement of a Wet Clutch
2013 12th International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications, 2013Many industrial problems are inherently multi-objective, and require special attention to find different trade-off solutions. Typical multi-objective approaches calculate a scalarization of the different objectives and subsequently optimize the problem using a single-objective optimization method.

Iterative optimization of the filling phase of wet clutches
2010 11th IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control (AMC), 2010This paper considers the control of wet clutches, and presents a two-level control strategy to learn and adapt the control signals during normal machine operation. With this approach it is possible to avoid the current practise of experimental calibrations, where regular recalibrations are needed to compensate for time-varying dynamics, e.g.

Benchtop screening of wet clutch materials
Tribology International, 2018Abstract To decrease development time, bench-top screening tests are often used to rank materials prior to selection for standardized full-scale component test rigs, in-service vehicle tests, or system field testing. This paper describes the results from screening tests of four different paper-based clutch materials using a small scale bench-top test

A study of delamination of wet clutches
JSAE Review, 1999Abstract The delamination mechanism of a wet clutch in an automatic transmission has not been discussed in detail. In order to investigate this mechanism, two deterioration tests were run. One was applying mechanical stroking and shear torque to a wet clutch. The other was immersing cotton thread in various fluids.
