Modeling Heat Transfer in a Wet Clutch
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1990<div class="htmlview paragraph">The results of research involving the development and verification of a heat transfer model for a multiple-plate wet clutch are presented. Three specific operating conditions were considered: (1) engaged and slipping, (2) engaged and not slipping, and (3) disengaged.

Testing Wet Clutch Systems for Anti-Shudder Performance
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2020<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The wet clutch system (WCS) is a complex combination of friction plates, separator plates and fluid (lubricant). The basic function of the WCS is to transfer torque under various operating conditions such as slipping, shifting, start/launch and/or torque converter clutch (TCC ...

A study of delamination of wet clutches
JSAE Review, 1999Abstract The delamination mechanism of a wet clutch in an automatic transmission has not been discussed in detail. In order to investigate this mechanism, two deterioration tests were run. One was applying mechanical stroking and shear torque to a wet clutch. The other was immersing cotton thread in various fluids.

Estimation of the Clutch Characteristic Map for an Automated Wet Friction Clutch Transmission
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2016<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Higher demands on comfort and efficiency require a continuous improvement of the shift process. During the launch and shift process the clutch control is used to get a smooth and efficient behavior. In this short time of acting the shifting behavior can be rated.

Hydraulic Clutch Fill Control using Control-oriented Model in Wet Dual Clutch Transmission
2019 American Control Conference (ACC), 2019This paper proposes a control method for filling phase of a hydraulic clutch actuation system in wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT) based on a control-oriented model. In wet DCT, a clutch-fill process cannot obtain proper fill and maintain under-fill due to the drag torque, which causes bad shift performance.

Design and Entity Modeling of Wet Double Clutch
Advanced Materials Research, 2012In this paper, we calculates the main parameters of a c-class car, choose the friction material, confirm the structural dimensions of pivotal components, acquires the friction power and heat capacity, and design three kinds of wet double clutch arranged radially with hydraulic driving unit, arranged longitudinally with hydraulic driving unit and ...

Learning strategies for wet clutch control
2011This paper presents an overview of model-based (Iterative Learning Control, Model Predictive Control and Iterative Optimization) and non-model-based (Genetic-based Machine Learning and Reinforcement Learning) learning strategies for the control of wet clutches.
