Surface plasmons in Weyl semimetals [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2018
Abstract The surface plasmon excitation spectrum is calculated for the Weyl semimetal within the random phase approximation. Recently, a surface plasmon mode has been predicted to exist at the three-dimensional Dirac semimetal surface due to the Dirac plasmon mode in the bulk.

Weyl Semimetals as Hydrogen Evolution Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 2017
The search for highly efficient and low‐cost catalysts is one of the main driving forces in catalytic chemistry. Current strategies for the catalyst design focus on increasing the number and activity of local catalytic sites, such as the edge sites of molybdenum disulfides in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).

Electric quantum oscillations in Weyl semimetals [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
Electronic transport in Weyl semimetals is quite extraordinary due to the topological property of the chiral anomaly generating the charge pumping between two distant Weyl nodes with opposite chiralities under parallel electric and magnetic fields. Here, we develop a full nonequilibrium quantum transport theory of the chiral anomaly, based on the fact ...

Weyl semimetal/insulator transition from holography

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We study a holographic model which exhibits a quantum phase transition from the strongly interacting Weyl semimetal phase to an insulating phase. In the holographic insulating phase there is a hard gap in the real part of frequency dependent diagonal ...

High-pressure induced Weyl semimetal phase in 2D Tellurium

open access: yesCommunications Physics, 2023
Relativistic Weyl fermion quasiparticles in Weyl semimetal bring the electron’s chirality degree of freedom into the electrical transport and give rise to exotic phenomena.

Chiral Landau levels in Weyl semimetal NbAs with multiple topological carriers

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
How the carriers behave in a Weyl semimetal if they occupy the lowest Landau level remains elusive. Here, the authors report evidences of electrons occupying zeroth chiral Landau levels with distinct linear dispersion behaviors for two inequivalent Weyl ...

Signatures of a time-reversal symmetric Weyl semimetal with only four Weyl points [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Through intense research on Weyl semimetals during the past few years, we have come to appreciate that typical Weyl semimetals host many Weyl points.

Stability of the Weyl-semimetal phase on the pyrochlore lattice

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
Motivated by the proposal of a Weyl-semimetal phase in pyrochlore iridates, we consider a Hubbard-type model on the pyrochlore lattice. To shed light on the question as to why such a state has not been observed experimentally, its robustness is analyzed.
