Preguntas múltiples en euskera

open access: yesAnuario del Seminario de Filología Vasca "Julio de Urquijo", 2004
This paper evaluates Bošković's (1999) proposal with respect to question formation in Basque. This language allows two strategies to ask a question such as «who bought what?». One possibility is that one wh-phrase fronts and the other stays in situ.

Scrambling in German and Japanese: adjunction versus multiple specifiers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper argues that short (clause-internal) scrambling to a pre-subject position has A properties in Japanese but A'-properties in German, while long scrambling (scrambling across sentence boundaries) from finite clauses, which is possible in Japanese

A Biochar‐Based Composite Hydrogel Microenvironment for Enhanced Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the synthesis of a polyacrylamide hydrogel wherein biomass‐derived biochar is co‐encapsulated with the enzyme horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The resulting composite hydrogel possesses balanced electron‐rich and electron‐deficient domains, creating an optimal microenvironment that concentrates both hydrogen peroxide and phenol ...

Islands and non-islands in native and heritage Korean

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2016
To a large extent, island phenomena are cross-linguistically invariable, but English and Korean present some striking differences in this domain. English has wh-movement and Korean does not, and while both languages show sensitivity to wh-islands, only ...

The Structure & Derivation of Split Focalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper I propose a minimalist and derivational theory of the Focus Structure that explains in a straightforward way the focal patterns of the answers of multiple-Wh questions as instances of split focus ...

Ultrafast Vertical Organic Electrochemical Transistors With Ion‐Permeable Conductive Polymer Top Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Vertical organic electrochemical transistors (vOECTs) are limited in speed by ion‐impermeable metal electrodes that slow ion injection. Using ion‐permeable PBFDO top electrodes allows direct vertical ion injection into BBL channels, achieving high current densities (>400 A cm−2), large on/off ratios (>106), and ultrafast switching in 28 µs. This sets a

Harmony, Head Proximity, and the Near Parallels between Nominal and Clausal Linkers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper puts forward a notion of harmonic word order that leads to a new generalisation over the presence or absence of disharmony: specific functional heads must cross-linguistically obey this notion of harmony absolutely, while for other categories ...

W-Wort-Verdoppelung im Schweizerdeutschen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In some Swiss German dialects, wh-questions can show the wh-word at the end of the sentence in addition to its 'normal' sentence initial position. This phenomenon called wh-doubling raises some puzzling questions for linguistic theories, such as: what ...

Engineering Bilayer Tandem Catalysts on Si‐Based Photocathodes for High‐performance CO2 Reduction to Produce Methane

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A Cu/Ag‐Cu bilayer tandem catalyst is designed for a pyramid‐structured p‐Si photocathode, creating multiple and functionally distinct interfaces tailored to specific reaction steps and intermediate stabilization. This Cu/Ag‐Cu‐decorated p‐Si photocathode exhibits both high photocurrent and good selectivity for photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction to CH4.

A Quasi‐Solid Ionic Liquid‐Polymer Hybrid Electrolyte for Shuttle‐Free and Dendrite‐Free Aqueous Zinc─Bromine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A quasi‐solid ionic liquid‐polymer hybrid electrolyte is proposed to achieve shuttle‐free and dendrite‐free aqueous Zn─Br batteries. Synergetic effects between Zn2+ selective conduction of polyanionic network and polybromide complexing additive suppress the shuttle effect and improve Zn reversibility.
