Chemical composition, functional and baking properties of wheat-plantain composite flours
The feasibility of partially replacing wheat flour with plantain flour in bread and biscuit making were investigated. Matured plantains (Musa paradisiaca) were pulped, blanched, dehydrated and pulverized. The wheat flour (WF) was substituted by plantain four at levels of 5, 10, 20 and 30% and 0, 50, 60, 70, 80 90 and 100% for bread and biscuit making,

Polycaprolactone (PCL) based polymer composites filled wheat straw flour
In this study, polycaprolactone (PCL) based polymer composites were manufactured through injection moulding machine. Polycaprolactone (PCL) and wheat straw flour was used as polymer matrix and organic filler respectively. The effects of wheat straw flour loading on the mechanical properties of the manufactured composites were investigated. The thermal

Pentatricopeptide repeat proteins coordinate nucleus‐organelle communication by modulating RNA metabolism within chloroplasts and mitochondria. This review highlights how they control critical processes like photosynthesis, seed development, fertility restoration, and stress survival in crops, and explores their potential as programmable tools for RNA ...

Abscisic acid signaling homeostasis is essential for seed storability. The molecular chaperone OsCPN10a enhances rice seed storability by forming a trimeric chaperone complex with OsCPN20‐OsHSP60‐3B that attenuates abscisic acid signaling via direct interaction with OsPYL10‐OsABIL1, thereby maintaining starch integrity and offering a promising target ...

The Effects of Canning on the In Vitro Solubility of Phosphorus in Pet Food
ABSTRACT Excess phosphate (P) intake through inorganic P (Pi) addition is known to cause various adverse health effects while declaration of use and amount in pet food in the EU is not regulated. Distinction between organic phosphate (oP) from feed ingredients and Pi with standard laboratory methods is impossible.

ABSTRACT Increasing dietary fibre (DF) intake is an important target to improve health. An attractive strategy for this is to increase DF in wheat which is derived principally from the endosperm cell wall polysaccharide arabinoxylan (AX). The water‐extractable form of this (WE‐AX) accounts for most soluble dietary fibre (SDF), which is believed to ...
