The complete genome sequence for a Turkish isolate of Wheat dwarf virus (WDV) from barley confirms the presence of two distinct WDV strains

open access: yesVirus Genes, 2007
The complete genome for a barley isolate of Wheat dwarf virus (WDV) from Tekirdağ, Turkey, WDV-Bar[TR], was isolated and sequenced. The genome was found to be 2739 nucleotides long, which is shorter than wheat-infecting WDV isolates, and with a genome organization typical for mastreviruses.

Germinal virus vector WDV (wheat dwarf virus)-mediated multiple insertions of a maize transposon,Ds (dissociation), in rice

open access: yesJournal of Plant Biology, 2000
Wheat dwarf virus (WDV) is a monocot-infecting geminivirus that replicates in infected tissue as double-stranded DIMA. We evaluated whether the WDV vector system bearingDs could be used as an effective insertional mutagen in rice. Molecular data showed thatDs was excised from WDV vectors once the WDV-carryingDs (WDV::Ds) and the genomicAc vector were ...

Detection of wheat dwarf virus (WDV) in wheat and vector leafhopper (Psammotettix alienus Dahlb.) by real-time PCR

Journal of Virological Methods, 2010
Wheat dwarf virus (WDV) is a newly emerging pathogen affecting wheat production in China. A real-time PCR method using the TaqMan probe is described for quantitative detection of WDV in wheat tissues and in leafhopper (Psammotettix alienus Dahlb.). Primers and probes for specific detection of WDV were designed within the conserved region of the coat ...
