Enzymic saccharification of pretreated wheat straw
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1985AbstractStudies of pretreatment of wheat and its subsequent saccharification by Trichoderma reesei cellulases are reported. Steam explosion was found to be the most effective of the pretreatment methods tested. Data are presented describing the effect of enzyme and substrate concentration on the rate and degree of hydrolysis.

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1967Three methods, direct observation, plating out of washed particles and the dilution plate have been used to study the occurrence of fungi in experimental wheat straw composts. The distribution of the thermotolerant and thermophilic fungi is considered in detail and related in particular to the variations in temperature recorded in the composts.

Ozonolytic Delignification of Wheat Straw
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2020The dynamics of wheat straw delignification with ozone treatment is studied. The dependence of the residual lignin content on the specific absorption of ozone is determined. It is found that in a prolonged stage of ozonation, ozone is consumed mostly for the reaction with lignin.

Dilute Acid Hydrolysis of Wheat Straw Oligosaccharides
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2008The dilute acid posthydrolysis of wheat straw hemicellulosic oligosaccharides obtained by autohydrolysis was evaluated. An empirical model was used to describe the effect of catalyst concentration (sulfuric acid, 0.1-4% w/w) and reaction time (0-60 min) based on data from a Doehlert experimental design.
