Estimation of Soil Characteristic Parameters for Electric Mountain Tractor Based on Gauss–Newton Iteration Method

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
Future field work tasks will require mountain tractors to pass through rough terrain with limited human supervision. The wheel–soil interaction plays a critical role in rugged terrain mobility.

Mobile consumers influence the shoreward edge of intertidal seagrass ecosystems

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
Ecological paradigms suggest that the environmentally stressful edge of a habitat is determined by physical factors. The work finds that, counter to these paradigms, an environmentally stressful edge can also be impacted by biotic interactions and are more complex than suggested.

From Nominalisation to Passive in Old Tibetan: Reconstructing Grammatical Meaning in an Extinct Language1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Based on an analysis of the Old Literary Tibetan corpus—a corpus of the oldest documented Tibetic language—the present study provides evidence that literary Tibetan v3 verb stems (commonly termed ‘future’) initially encoded passive voice. New arguments put forward in this article range from Trans‐Himalayan nominal morphology to early Tibetan ...

‘From the Fields Into the Bars’: The Story of Israel's First Transgender Novel, The Cut (1977)

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 1977, an Israeli transgender woman, Judy Spotheim, published an autobiographical novel entitled The Cut. Investigating the Geotechnical Properties of the Lunar South Pole with NASA VIPER’s Mobility System

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
The NASA Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) is capable of assessing the geotechnical properties of the lunar south pole’s terrain, specifically as they pertain to terramechanics or the wheel–terrain interaction, combining the rover’s

REPRESENTING POLLUTION AT THE AGRARIAN–URBAN FRONTIER: Participatory Documentary Film‐Making in Bar Elias, Lebanon

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract The Beqaa Valley in Lebanon has become increasingly polluted, and residents are attributing illness to improper waste disposal and dumping. This article explores local epistemologies of pollution’s causes and effects in three films, which were researched and produced by local residents of Bar Elias, a small town in the Beqaa, which has rapidly
