Optofluidic Raman Analysis and Capacity Recovery in Li‐ion Cells
Operando Raman spectroscopy is used to monitor the degradation of commercial Li‐ion cells. Using a microfluidic access port, small amounts of electrolyte are sampled into a hollow‐core optical fibre, where fibre‐enhanced Raman analysis reveals Li+ solvation changes and solvent evolution.

Antilock braking control using robust control approach [PDF]
The aims of this study are to establish the mathematical model and the robust control technique for an Antilock Braking System (ABS). The ABS have been developed to reduce tendency of wheel lock up and to improve vehicle control during sudden braking ...

Wear rates in urban rail systems [PDF]
A significant part of maintenance costs in urban rail systems (metro, tram, light rapid transit/light metro) is due to wheel-rail wear. Wear rates - measured for example as depth of wear per kilometre run (rolling stock) or per train passage (rails ...

Fully 3D‐Printed Wave‐Wound Electromagnetic Motors
This work presents the first fully 3D‐printed wave‐wound electromagnetic motors, which are created using conductive nanoparticle inks, carbon‐filled nylon polymers, and surface mount components. These motors can achieve a stall torque of 7.62N·mmA−1$7.62 \nobreakspace N{\cdot }mm A^{-1}$ and efficiency of 28.2 %, which approaches the performance of ...

A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

A Note on the Ramsey Number of Even Wheels Versus Stars
For two graphs G1 and G2, the Ramsey number R(G1,G2) is the smallest integer N, such that for any graph on N vertices, either G contains G1 or Ḡ contains G2. Let Sn be a star of order n and Wm be a wheel of order m + 1.
