Direct Writing of Photonic Structures by Two-Photon Polymerization

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2013
Single-mode dielectric-loaded surface plasmon-polariton nanowaveguides with strong mode confinement at excitation wavelength of 830 nm and high-Q polymer whispering gallery mode microcavities with surface roughness less than 12 nm have been directly ...

Nitrite to Nitrate Spontaneous Oxidation in Suspended Aqueous Droplets

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract We report experimental evidence of the spontaneous formation of NO3− in suspended aqueous droplets containing NO2−, driven by hydroxyl radicals and NO2 produced by the intrinsic properties of the air‐water interface. This oxidation of nitrite anions is observed in single droplets of micrometer size using optical tweezers, with the υ1(N–O ...

Low threshold Rhodamine-doped whispering gallery mode microlasers fabricated by direct laser writing

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The combination of the outstanding properties of whispering gallery modes with both the flexibility and ease of processing of polymers is particularly attractive for photonics applications.

Harnessing Interfacial Field Localization in Hexagonal GaP Mie Resonators

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Сharacterization of Mie modes in self‐assembled GaP nanowires grown by MBE in vertical and horizontal configurations. The hexagonal cross‐section suppresses higher‐order modes while preserving dominant low‐order modes with spectral shifts. Simulations and dark‐field spectroscopy confirm the diameter‐dependent tunability.

Locking a microsphere whispering-gallery mode to a laser

open access: yesOptics Express, 2001
We have locked a whispering-gallery resonance of a fused-silica microsphere to a frequency-scanning laser. The resonance frequency is modulated by axial compression of the microsphere, and phase-sensitive detection of the fiber-coupled optical throughput is used for locking.

Optothermal dynamics in whispering-gallery microresonators

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2020
Optical microresonators: Investigating light’s tiny whispers Optical whispering-gallery mode microresonators can trap light in a highly confined volume, similar to the behavior of sound waves in the famous whispering gallery of St Paul’s Cathedral ...

Two‐Photon 3D Printing of Functional Microstructures Inside Living Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This study demonstrates 3D printing inside living cells by using two‐photon photo‐lithography. A bio‐compatible photoresist is injected into cells and selectively polymerized with a femtosecond laser, creating custom‐shaped intracellular structures with submicron resolution.

Whispering gallery resonator method for measurementspermittivity

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2002
The new method of measuring permittivity is described. The measurements are performed using whispering gallery mode open dielectric resonators. The accuracy is assured by applications of the mode matching method.

Chameleonic Color‐Variable Microbead Emitters for Multilevel Spectroscopic Encryption from Visible to Infrared Wavelengths

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 19, 22 May 2026.
Whispering‐gallery‐mode microresonators with sharp resonant peaks enable photonic barcoding. Similar to a chameleon, a rare‐earth‐free microcavity with π‐conjugated PAHs enables visibleto‐near infrared color generation from a single microbead. The unique resonat emission (spectral barcode) can be dynamically transformed via excitation wavelength change,

Photon‐Sphere Modes in Curved Optical Microcavities: A Black‐Hole Analogue Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.
An optical analogue of a Schwarzschild black hole is realized using curved microcavities that preserve light‐like geodesics. A new family of laser modes confined around the photon sphere is identified alongside conventional whispering‐gallery modes. Analytical theory, numerical simulations, and experiments reveal curvature‐induced confinement, enabling
