Solution‐processed organic photodetectors (OPDs) based on two novel low band gap non‐fullerene acceptors BZIC‐2F and BZIC‐2Cl, when blended with common polymer donor P3HT, extend detection range beyond 1200 nm with superior performance, rivaling costly inorganic sensors and past literature.

A hierarchically structured metal–organic framework (eMIL) is shown to host the complete six‐enzyme biosynthesis pathway for the anti‐cancer pigment violacein, reshaping reaction dynamics and multiplying in vitro yields. eMIL nanoreactors deliver this reconstituted bacterial multi‐protein system into mammalian cells, where cell‐derived substrates and ...

Pressure‐Induced Emission toward Harvesting Cold White Light from Warm White Light
Angewandte Chemie, 2021AbstractThe pressure‐induced emission (PIE) behavior of halide perovskites has attracted widespread attention and has potential application in pressure sensing. However, high‐pressure reversibility largely inhibits practical applications. Here, we describe the emission enhancement and non‐doping control of the color temperature in two‐dimensional ...

White-Light Nanosource with Directional Emission
Physical Review Letters, 2002We report the first observation of white-light emission from femtosecond laser-induced plasma in a water droplet. Such emission is not observed with water in a cell. The microdroplet acts as a lens, focusing the incident light to nanosized regions within itself and directing the emission from these regions primarily back toward the laser source.

White-Light Emission from Layered Halide Perovskites
Accounts of Chemical Research, 2018With nearly 20% of global electricity consumed by lighting, more efficient illumination sources can enable massive energy savings. However, effectively creating the high-quality white light required for indoor illumination remains a challenge. To accurately represent color, the illumination source must provide photons with all the energies visible to ...

DNA-assisted white light emission through FRET
Chem. Commun., 2011We observed FRET between an excimer of a partially intercalated cyclophane and ethidium bromide, a classical intercalator in presence of DNA and by fine-tuning the molar concentrations of these three components, we could generate white light emission in the aqueous and non-aqueous media.

Aggregation‐Induced Emission Leading to White Light Emission in Diphenylbenzofulvene Derivatives
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2022AbstractThe search for a unique molecular system able to efficiently emit in the total visible range of the electromagnetic spectra, i. e., white light emission (WLE), is a topic of intense research. We here show that aggregates formed by diphenylbenzofulvene (DPBF) derivatives are from two to four orders of magnitude more emissive than their monomers.
