Effect of CPP-ACPF, resin infiltration, and colloidal silica infiltration on surface microhardness of artificial white spot lesions in primary teeth: An in vitro study

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2022
Background: Remineralizing agents such as fluoride and casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) are popular treatment choices for incipient enamel lesions. Recently introduced resin infiltration enhances the esthetics of teeth affected

Microarray analysis of spring barley cultivars displaying differing sensitivity to physiological leaf spot (PLS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
peer-reviewedPhysiological leaf spot (PLS) is a disorder of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), which has become more pronounced in recent years. The initial symptoms are small chlorotic/brown spots on the upper four leaves, which may develop into ...

Penatalaksanaan white spot lesion setelah perawatan ortodontik dengan teknik resin infiltration

Management of white spot lesion after orthodontic treatment with resin infiltration technique

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Padjadjaran, 2019

Incidence of White Spot Lesion During Fixed Orthodontic Treatment

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Orthodontics, 2013
Objective:Development of white spot lesion (WSL) is one of the main side effects of fixed orthodontic treatment (FOT). The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence of WSL during FOT and to determine the significant factors.Materials and Methods:

Colour Change and Surface Gloss of Unpolished Infiltrated Bovine Enamel Submitted to Toothbrushing, pH Cycling and Artificial Ageing [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2019
Introduction: The first clinical sign of a caries lesion which represents mineral loss from the enamel subsurface is white spot lesion. Thus, the use of a resin infiltrant has been cited as a promising treatment, once the resin infiltrant promotes an ...

Glass-ionomer Adhesives in Orthodontics: Clinical Implications and Future Research Directions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
During the past ten years significant advances have been made in the development of glass-ionomer bonding adhesives. The beneficial effects of fluoride are well documented and an agent which reduces or prevents a white spot lesion that commonly occurs ...

Cerebellar-Dependent Learning in Larval Zebrafish [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Understanding how neuronal network activity contributes to memory formation is challenged by the complexity of most brain circuits and the restricted ability to monitor the activity of neuronal populations in vivo.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Fluoride Varnish May Improve White Spot Lesions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Design A randomised, parallel-group, controlled clinical trial. Intervention The test group had fluoride varnish applied onto the tooth surfaces with WSLs using a miniature cotton swab or brush and advised not to brush for four hours.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
