We connect Whitney levels and continuous functions between continua to obtain the new notion of Whitney preserving maps. We introduce the basic properties of Whitney preserving maps. We give conditions on a continuum X in order that a Whitney preserving map f from X to the unit interval is a homeomorphism, and we give examples to show the conditions ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Detecting Whitney disks for link maps in the four-sphere [PDF]
It is an open problem whether Kirk’s [Formula: see text]-invariant is the complete obstruction to a link map [Formula: see text] being link homotopic to the trivial link. The link homotopy invariant associates to such a link map [Formula: see text] a pair [Formula: see text], and we write [Formula: see text].

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Lines of principal curvature for mappings with Whitney umbrella singularities
A mapping of a 2-manifold \(\alpha\) : \(M\to {\mathbb{R}}^ 3\) has a Whitney umbrella singularity at a point p if there is a chart for which \(\alpha_ v(0)=0\) and \(\alpha_ u(0)\), \(\alpha_{uu}(0)\), \(\alpha_{vv}(0)\) span \({\mathbb{R}}^ 3\). The authors show that a Whitney umbrella has a single tangent to all curvature lines.

Sildenafil delays the intestinal transit of a liquid meal in awake rats
Sildenafil slows down the gastric emptying of a liquid test meal in awake rats and inhibits the contractility of intestinal tissue strips. We studied the acute effects of sildenafil on in vivo intestinal transit in rats. Fasted, male albino rats (180-220
