Male rats were irradiated with 400 r whole body irradiation. The in vivo incorporation of 2-C/sup 14/-acetate in liver cholesterol decreases during the first day after irradiation and subsequently increases. The hepatic cholesterol concentration falls immediately, rises above normal and slowly falls again.
