A Compact Uniplanar Electromagnetic Bandgap Structure with Wide Bandgap

2021 IEEE 19th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM), 2021
This paper presents a new compact uniplanar electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure for K band applications. The proposed unit cell consists of corner square patches which are connected at the center by meander lines and interdigital capacitors (IDC) along the edges.

Prospects for Wide Bandgap and Ultrawide Bandgap CMOS Devices

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2020
Power and RF electronics applications have spurred massive investment into a range of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconductor devices which can switch large currents and voltages rapidly with low losses. However, the end systems using these devices are often limited by the parasitics of integrating and driving these chips from the silicon ...

Substrates for wide bandgap nitrides

Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2002
Different substrates for gallium nitride growth are discussed. The commercially relevant substrates, silicon carbide and sapphire, and the two most promising alternatives, silicon and gallium nitride, are compared in terms of suitability for epitaxial processes and in their effects on devices. An estimation on future market success is given.

Electromodulation of wide-bandgap semiconductors

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2018
In this work, we explored the functionality of the electromodulation technique to determine the energy gaps of wide band gap oxides which lie in the ultraviolet region. Oxides like ErO, GaO HfO, TaO and ZrO were analyzed in this study with their band gaps determined through the spectrophotometric as well as with the electromodulation method.
