A wide range PLL for 64X speed CD-ROMs & 10X speed DVD-ROMs
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2000In this paper, we propose a wide range PLL (phase locked loop) for 64X speed CD-ROMs and 10X speed DVD-ROMs. In order to develop a PLL with a wide locking range we designed a dual loop scheme which consists of a frequency detection loop and phase detection loop.

Design of an SRM Speed Control Strategy for a Wide Range of Operating Speeds
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2010This paper presents a speed control strategy for a switched reluctance machine (SRM). Two control strategies are compared to select the most appropriate control that allows the SRM to operate in wide-speed-range operation. The proposed strategy is first designed to control the speed in discontinuous conduction mode and is then extended to operate in ...

Digital wide range electronic speed governor on FPGA
2008 10th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision, 2008The paper realizes a design of digital fuzzy adaptive tuning PID electronic governor. It is based on VHDL description and implemented on FPGA. The paper proposes to detect the speed with duty cycle calculation and use fuzzy-control rules to amend the PID parameters on line to achieve the fuzzy adaptive tuning PID control.

Wide-division-range high-speed fully programmable frequency divider
2008 Joint 6th International IEEE Northeast Workshop on Circuits and Systems and TAISA Conference, 2008This paper presents the design and implementation of an all-programmable frequency divider with an ultra-wide division range for use in phase-locked loops. The proposed divider uses a fully modular architecture and dynamic logic - implemented in TSMC 0.18 mum - and can divide input frequencies up to 7.55 GHz by any ratio between 8 and 255 while ...

Wide Speed Range Operation of Non-Salient PM Machines
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2016Non-salient permanent magnet machines are considered poor candidates for flux weakening operations due to their inherent low-inductance characteristics. In this paper, a two-pole 24-slot non-salient PM machine design is proposed that can utilize a winding switching technique to achieve wide speed range operation. A very wide speed range operation (from

High-Speed Wide-Range Fluorite Spectrograph*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1957A plane-grating spectrograph using a movable calcium fluoride camera corrector lens has been designed and constructed. It can be used to cover a wavelength range from about 12 000 A to 1500 A. The dispersion is approximately 58 A/mm, in the first order.

High-Speed Avalanche Photodiodes With Wide Dynamic Range Performance
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2019In this work, we demonstrate a novel top-illuminated avalanche photodiode (APD) with high-speed and wide dynamic range performance for coherent lidar applications, which needs simultaneous processing of weak light reflections from the object and a strong optical local-oscillator (LO) signal at the receiving end.

Wide Spectral Range InP-based Photodetectors with High Speed
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2015, 2015A novel InP-based photodetector (PD) with high speed in 850 to 1550nm spectral range is proposed. Theoretical studies indicate that the bandwidth is 62.5GHz, 61.7GHz, and 60.3GHz respectively at 850nm, 1310nm, and 1550nm wavelength excitations.

An Improved Wide-Range Adjustable-Speed Drive [includes discussion]
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1954An adjustable-speed drive using a d-c series generator supplying a d-c series motor is described. This drive operates well at speeds under 10 rpm as well as at speeds limited only by mechanical considerations. The ratio of maximum to minimum speed, Fig. 4, is in the order of 100 to 1.

Wide speed-range following control for road autonomous vehicles
2011 International Conference on Consumer Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet), 2011This paper is to design an autonomous cruise control module for autonomous vehicle following to maintain steering smoothness and a desired intervehicle spacing from highway to nonhighway environments. We reasonably simplify the nonlinear kinematical module to linear time-varying module by combining optimal control on lateral side with classic ...
