High-speed and wide-tuning-range LC frequency dividers

2004 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37512), 2004
Wide tuning-range frequency dividers based on an LC resonator are proposed for high-speed transceivers. The proposed circuit is fabricated using a two-metal and 0.5-/spl mu/m-gate CMOS process and realizes minimum and the maximum frequencies of 7.74 GHz and 8.16 GHz, respectively, with a power consumption of 2.2 mW at a supply voltage of 0.9 V.

Sensorless Vector Control of PMSM in Wide Speed Range

2014
In order to achieve the sensorless vector control of PMSM in wide speed range, a hybrid control mode strategy is presented, which included sliding mode observer (SMO) and high frequency injection (HFI). At medium or high speed, sliding mode observer method that was based on fundamental wave model is applied to estimate of speed and position of PMSM ...

Sensorless‐estimation of induction motors in wide speed range

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2007
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to improve performance in the estimation of velocity and flux in the sensorless control of induction motors (IMs) over a wide speed range, including low and zero speed.Design/methodology/approachTemperature and frequency dependent variations of stator (Rs) and rotor (R′r) resistances are very effective on estimation ...

An analog high-speed wide-range programmable monostable multivibrator

Proceedings of ISCAS'95 - International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
This paper presents a scheme for an analog monolithic monostable multivibrator suitable for use in a wide variety of applications where a need exists for pulses of a known and precise width in response to a trigger signal. The pulse can be programmed either using a reference current or an external capacitor which allow widths from 5 ns to a maximum ...

High-speed wide-locking range VCO with frequency calibration

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century. Proceedings (IEEE Cat No.00CH36353), 2002
High-speed network systems require a wide-frequency-range clock system for data processing. Frequency calibration method enables the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) in a phase-locked loop (PLL) to cover the expected frequency range for high-speed applications that require a wide locking range. Frequency range adjustment is implemented by means of a

Direct torque control of induction machines over a wide speed range

Conference Record of the 1992 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2003
A control scheme for direct torque control (DTC) of a three-phase induction machine operating over a wide spread range is discussed. The DTC is based on deadbeat control of torque and flux utilizing the principles of stator flux field orientation. The stator flux can be calculated from the terminal quantities and the stator resistance.

Preliminary Study on a Wide-Speed-Range Helicopter Rotor/Turboshaft System

Journal of Aircraft, 2012
this paper, a preliminary performance assessment of the coupling between a wide-speed-range helicopter rotor and the connected turboshaft engine was carried out. For this purpose, a well-known test case has been chosen (UH-60A helicopter equipped with a GE-T700 engine) to study the implications of such coupling from both the helicopter and ...

Wide range speed sensorless induction motor drives with rotor resistance adaptation

Proceedings of International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems for Industrial Growth, 2002
In this paper the possibility to have a reliable simultaneous estimation of both the rotor speed and rotor time constant in a field oriented controlled (FOC) induction motor drive is discussed. The considered solution uses a Luenberger state observer for flux estimation and suitable adaptation mechanisms for speed and rotor time constant estimation ...

Performance of interior permanent magnet motor drive over wide speed range

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2002
This paper investigates the performance of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive over wide speed range for high precision industrial applications. The scheme incorporates the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) operation in constant torque region and the flux-weakening operation in constant power region in order to expand the ...

Realization of a wide speed range for an agricultural tractor

2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016
The electrification of agricultural vehicles is often discussed. Several prototypes, which use electric machines as a traction drive, are known. However, design of an electric motor is a particular challenge because of the special characteristics of the drive cycle of the agricultural tractor.
