Wideband RELAX and wideband CLEAN for aeroacoustic imaging
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2003Microphone arrays can be used for acoustic source localization and characterization in wind tunnel testing. In this paper, the wideband RELAX (WB-RELAX) and the wideband CLEAN (WB-CLEAN) algorithms are presented for aeroacoustic imaging using an acoustic array.

Energy Detection of Wideband and Ultra-Wideband PPM
2010 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference GLOBECOM 2010, 2010In this paper, energy detectors are developed for wideband and ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse position modulation (PPM). Exact bit error probability (BEP) formulas are derived under different assumptions about the channel. More specifically, we present an expression for the instantaneous BEP for a specific channel realization, as well as an expression for ...

EVRC-Wideband: The New 3GPP2 Wideband Vocoder Standard
2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007In this paper, the latest wideband vocoder standard adopted by the cdma2000 standardization body, 3GPP2, is described. Christened enhanced variable rate codec-wideband (EVRC-WB), the proposed codec encodes wideband speech (16 KHz sampling frequency) at a maximum bit-rate of 8.55 kbit/s.

Wideband electromechanical stimulator
Medical & Biological Engineering, 1976An electromechanical stimulator with wideband characteristics is described. Nonlinear control techniques have been used to achieve a fast rise time, a speedy settling time, and a very small steady-state error. The device has been used in quantitative investigations on cutaneous receptor units.

Estimation of directions of arrival of wideband and wideband spread sources
Signal Processing, 2007The problem of estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of wideband sources has always been of interest to the researchers because of its importance in many practical scenarios. The rising demand of communicating at higher data rates can be met by using wideband signals [R.U. Nabar, A. Paulraj, D.A. Gore, H.

Wideband local oscillator design for wideband transceivers
2011 IEEE International RF & Microwave Conference, 2011The wideband transceivers like the software defined radio require designing wideband RF hardware covering octave bands. The local oscillator of the mixer should be a wideband frequency synthesizer. Building on the theory of oscillations in the voltage controlled oscillator, the paper reviews the concept of negative resistance in the transistor circuit ...

2nd European Conference on Speech Communication and Technology (Eurospeech 1991), 1991
Abstract The technologies of ISDN teleconferencing, CD-ROM multimedia services, and High Definition Television are creating new opportunities and challenges for the digital coding of wideband audio signals, wideband speech in particular. In the coding of wideband speech, an important point of reference is the CCITT standard for 7 kHz speech at a rate

Ultra wideband antennas are specifically designed to transmit and/or receive very short time durations of electromagnetic energy. It is well known that UWB antenna design remains the major factor in the progress of UWB technology. This article describes a study of conventional antennas and why they are not suitable for a UWB system.
