A Unif: A common supercategory of pMET and Unif
In order to have a topological category that contains both pMET and Unif in a nice way (and therefore combines quantitative and uniform concepts), approach uniformities are introduced. Approach uniformities uniformize the so‐called approach spaces, introduced in Lowen [8]. Different characterizations of approach uniformities are formulated.

Selections of set‐valued stochastic processes
We show that ℱt‐adapted, set‐valued stochastic processes satisfying mild continuity conditions admit, ℱt‐adapted, stochastically continuous selections.

Embeddings in the Fell and Wijsman topologies
It is shown that if a T2 topological space X contains a closed uncountable discrete subspace, then the spaces (?1 + 1)? and (?1 + 1)?1 embed into (CL(X),?F), the hyperspace of nonempty closed subsets of X equipped with the Fell topology. If (X, d) is a non-separable perfect topological space, then (?1 + 1)? and (?1 +1)?1 embed into (CL(X), ?

Abstract In many European countries with plentiful forest resources, novel forest‐based businesses play a key role in the transition from our current fossil‐based economy towards a circular bioeconomy. For example, kraft lignin, a by‐product from the pulping industry, is produced in large amounts globally.

Quantale-valued Cauchy tower spaces and completeness [PDF]
[EN] Generalizing the concept of a probabilistic Cauchy space, we introduce quantale-valued Cauchy tower spaces. These spaces encompass quantale-valued metric spaces, quantale-valued uniform (convergence) tower spaces and quantale-valued convergence ...

On Bairness of the Wijsman Hyperspace [PDF]
Baireness of the Wijsman hyperspace topology is characterized for a metrizable base space with a countable-in-itself p-base; further, a separable 1st category metric spaceis constructed with a Baire Wijsman ...

The Wijsman hyperspace of a metric hereditarily Baire space is Baire
In this paper, we show that the Wijsman hyperspace of a metric hereditarily Baire space is Baire. This solves a recent question posed by Zsilinszky. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V.
