Mitochondria in Viral Infections: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets
Viral infections remodel mitochondrial function through direct viral regulation and infection‐induced changes in host cellular processes. These alterations affect OXPHOS, mitochondrial metabolism, calcium homeostasis, membrane potential, redox regulation, dynamics, and apoptosis, with distinct effects on viral replication and host antiviral responses ...

Hepatic B‐cell lymphoma in a wild European badger (Meles meles) in the UK
Abstract Neoplastic diseases are considered rare in wild European badgers (Meles meles) with a single pelioid hepatocellular carcinoma, and four lymphoma cases (two T‐cell, two unclassified) in the literature. In this study, we provide a detailed description of the shoulder and brachium muscles and the brachial plexus of the domestic cat (Felis catus). We identified muscular variants (articularis humeri, coracobrachialis longus, biceps brachii caput breve), clarified the independence of the anconeus medialis muscle from the triceps brachii muscle, and ...

Morphological study of the supratrochlear foramen in Canis lupus ssp.
The supratrochlear foramen (STF) is a common anatomical feature in the humeri of dogs and wolves. This study shows that the STF exhibits a consistent shape and position in dogs and wolves, suggesting a common morphological pattern; however, it was less frequent in smaller dog humeri, and its size correlated with humeral dimensions, suggesting that ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Rickettsioses and leptospirosis are infectious diseases often underdiagnosed due to limited knowledge about their epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical aspects. Objectives To characterize the seroprevalence and seroincidence of Rickettsia and Leptospira agents and determine their associated factors in rural areas of Urabá ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Toscana virus (TOSV) and Leishmania species are sand fly‐borne pathogens that pose a significant public health threat and an increasing risk of exposure in Europe. The objective of this study was to identify the phleboviruses circulating in an area endemic for sand fly‐borne pathogens and to estimate infection prevalence in wild ...
