Direct regeneration from wild pear (Pyrus syriaca) leaf explant
The effects of growth regulator, light, expiant, sugar, agar, pH and leaf age on adventitious shoot formation were tested using leaf expiants of endemic wild pear ( Pyrus syriaca ). Shoots regenerated from whole leaf and leaf sections when either adaxial or abaxial leaf surfaces were in contact with the media.

ABSTRACT Fusarium wilt of banana (FWB), caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc), threatens global banana production. Lignin reinforces cell walls against pathogens and lodging, yet its regulatory mechanisms in banana remain elusive. Through genome‐wide association study (GWAS) of lignin content across 184 banana accessions, we identified ...

The Pyrus sinkiangensis Yu PsLEA4 Gene Enhances the Cold Resistance of Solanum lycopersicum
Plants have large amounts of the late embryogenesis abundant protein (LEA) family of proteins, which is involved in osmotic regulation. The Korla Pear (Pyrus sinkiangensis Yu) is an uncommon pear species that thrives in Xinjiang and can survive below ...

Transcriptomics Analysis of Penicillium expansum ΔWSC1 Infection and Defense Mechanism against It in Pear Fruits [PDF]
The WSC proteins produced by Penicillium expansum play a crucial role in causing blue mold on pears. To analyze the role of the WSC1 gene in the pathogenic process of this fungal pathogen, we conducted transcriptomic analysis of a WSC1 knockout (ΔWSC1 ...

ABSTRACT Ethylene plays a crucial role in fruit ripening and is perceived by specialised receptor proteins embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. As an ethylene antagonist, 1‐methylcyclopropene (1‐MCP) binds to these receptors and delays papaya ripening, but improper use can cause ripening disorders.

ABSTRACT Root traits significantly shape rhizosphere microbiomes, yet their interaction with microbes is often overlooked in plant breeding programs. Here, we propose that selecting modern cultivars based on microbiome interactive trait (MIT), such as root biomass, exudate patterns and the rhizosphere microbiome, can enhance agricultural sustainability

Macronutrient composition in pollen affects development and survival in wild bees
Small carpenter bees (Ceratina calcarata) were reared on diets formulated with black poplar and dandelion pollen, while closely monitoring developmental metrics, lipid content and survival. Macronutrient analyses on both pollen types revealed dandelion pollen contained lower levels of protein, essential amino acids and several fatty acids, which ...
