Molecular Rotors: From Newtonian Fluids to Functional Materials as Viscosity and Temperature Sensing Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular rotors are fluorescent molecules that are sensitive to viscosity and temperature variations in the environment. They exhibit a direct correlation between fluorescence and viscosity within Newtonian fluids. However, this correlation becomes less straightforward in complex systems.

Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.

Wind-Induced Vibration Analysis of a Tower with an Attached Vent Stack Using Fluid–Structure Interaction Modeling

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The tower with an attached vent stack is a special arrangement in chemical tower structures. Flow-induced vibration of this configuration directly affects the safe operation and structural fatigue life of the equipment. This paper investigates the vortex-

Numerical analysis on wind-induced vibration response of long-span transmission tower-line system

open access: yesJournal of the Croatian Association of Civil Engineers
Based on the engineering background related to ±800 kV ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission lines spanning the Yellow River, finite element models were developed for single-tower and transmission tower-line systems, with their wind-induced responses under wind loads were simulated and analysed.

Wearable Kirigami‐Apertured Capacitive Sensors for Continuous Cardiac Volumetric Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A wearable kirigami‐apertured carbon nanotube‐paper composite (K‐CPC) capacitive sensor enables cardiac volumetric monitoring. The kirigami process creates a central aperture with cantilevered fibers that confine the electric field, enhancing both sensitivity and lateral resolution.

Spin Dynamics in the van der Waals Ferromagnet CrTe2 Engineered by Niobium Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spin‐dynamic magnetic properties of van der Waals (vdW) ferromagnet 1T‐CrTe2 are tuned via niobium (Nb) as Cr1‐xNbxTe2 (x = 0–0.2). Nb doping enables wide‐band tuning of the resonance frequency from 40 GHz down to the few‐GHz regime, accompanied by a moderate increase in the Gilbert damping from ∼0.066 to ∼0.14.

Wind Tunnel Test on Wind-Resistant Performance of Suspended Monorail Cable-Stayed Bridge

open access: yesZhongwai Gonglu
To investigate the wind-induced vibration of a suspended monorail bridge, a full-bridge aeroelastic model at a 1∶40 scale was designed and fabricated according to the geometrical parameters and dynamic characteristics of the real bridge.

Hierarchical Collagen Nanofiber Gels Recapitulate a Physiologically Relevant Tumor Stromal Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The collagen nanofiber (CNF) gel supports cancer cell culture, exhibiting cell morphology and cancer‐related protein expression similar to Matrigel. It offers a higher collagen concentration than commercial gels. Additionally, the CNF gel allows replication of the high elasticity of in vivo cancer tissue by controlling collagen fiber sizes, ranging ...

Experimental study on the piezoelectric active vibration reduction system of wind tunnel aerodynamic models

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao
During the wind tunnel model aerodynamic test, the slender cantilever model tail support system is susceptible to low-frequency and high-amplitude resonance caused by airflow separation and turbulence, which has a significant impact on test data quality.
